Benadryl Side Effects, Information and Benadryl Tidbits
What is Benadryl?
Benadryl is a medication used to treat allergies. Benadryl blocks the bodies naturally occuring histamine. Allergies it treats include watery eyes, itching, running nose, sneezing, hives, rashes and other common cold symptoms. It can also be used to suppress coughing, motion sickness, to induce sleeping and treat mild forms of Parkinson's. In the United States, Bendryl contains the 1st generation antihistamine Diphenhydramine, which treats allergies. It helps block the effect of histamine, and not its production or release. In the UK, Benadryl contains either the 2nd generation antihistamine acrivastine (Benadryl Allergy Relief) or cetirizine (Benadryl Once a Day).
